Preview builds
Letters from the Dev
Nekoshi isn’t out yet. This is what has changed in the preview builds we’re testing.
New
- Eleven more friends: Peep, Bonzo, Boo, Hopkin, Digs, Gloop, Ember, Upa, Bolt, Fang and Sporey, each with its own habits and Extra annoying tricks.
- Every friend has its own size, from little Peep to Ember, the biggest. Eggs match.
- Boo doesn’t hatch any more. It rises from the newest grave on your screen.
- Fang is born unable to fly. Hold it up and let go until it learns, or it won’t make it.
- New toys for Nekoshi: a feather wand (your pointer becomes the stick) and a cardboard box to pounce on and shred.
- Throw Nekoshi’s toy mouse and it brings it back to your pointer. Leave it lying about and it goes off.
- Upa has its own voice: squeaky little calls and bubbles.
- Each friend has its own background pattern on its cards.
- An Overweight tag on the stats card. Running around and playing burns it off.
Changed
- Nekoshi is moody about toys. When it isn’t feeling great, it may turn its back and groom instead. Try another toy.
- Petting a sleeping friend no longer wakes it, and a tired nap turns into a real sleep.
- Ember only comes in dragon colours.
- Menus, cards and sticky notes open on the screen your friend is on.
Fixed
- Wings, tails and gills were cut off on some friends.
- Sporey’s smile and legs ran into each other.
- Nekoshi uses less of your computer’s power, especially on your other screens.
New
- The first builds: Nekoshi and Squib hatch from eggs, eat, play fetch, poop, get sick and hold grudges.
- Graves, sticky notes, and friends who leave for good when they’re ignored.
- Six personalities, Extra annoying mode, and 100 names to roll.
- Pebski, the free rock: it rolls in, does nothing, and chips a pixel at a time until it breaks.
- Friends walk across all of your screens.
Changed
- The download went from 367 MB to 1.6 MB.
